Dekanter centrifuger anvendes til adskillelse af fast-væske- eller fast-væske-væske-suspensionerne. Maskinen består af en solid cylindrisk skål, der roterer med høj hastighed, en rulle, der roterer i samme akse med en lidt anden hastighed, gearkasse, der justerer hastighedsforskellen og kroppen, som bærer alle de roterende elementer.
Produktet føres langs centerlinjen til et fast fordelingsrum i skålen og accelereres derefter ind i skålen ved centrifugalkraft gennem fødepunktet. Denne centrifugalkraft får så de suspenderede faste stoffer (kagen) til at sætte sig og akkumulere ved skålvæggen. Kagen udtømmes ved at rulle fra den koniske del, mens klaret fast stof og vand eller kun væske strømmer tilbage langs skålen og udledes gennem den cylindriske ende af skålen af plader, som kan justere væske niveauet.
* Hastighedsforskel mellem skål og den roterende rulle l er defineret som "differenshastigheden".
Alle dele i kontakt med produktet er lavet af rustfrit stål. For at etablere maksimal sikkerhed er alle skåldele desuden fremstillet med centrifugal støbemetode. Således produceres en svejsefri skåldel med homogen mikrostruktur og uden mikrorevnefejl.

Decanter centrifuges are used to separate the solid-liquid or solid-liquid-liquid suspensions. The machine consists of a solid cylindrical bowl that rotates at high speed, a roller that rotates in the same axis at a slightly different speed, gearbox that adjusts the speed difference and the body that carries all the rotating elements.
The product is fed along the center line to a fixed distribution space in the bowl and is then accelerated into the bowl by centrifugal force through the feed point. This centrifugal force then causes the suspended solids (the cake) to settle and accumulate at the bowl wall. The cake is discharged by rolling from the conical part, while clarified solid and water or only liquid flows back along the bowl and is discharged through the cylindrical end of the bowl by plates, which can adjust the liquid level.
* Speed difference between bowl and the rotating roller l is defined as the "differential speed".
All parts in contact with the product are made of stainless steel. In order to establish maximum safety, all bowl parts are also manufactured using the centrifugal casting method. Thus, a weld-free shell part with homogeneous microstructure and without microcrack defects is produced.
